Wilma Waddoups Shumway, 82, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at her home in Holladay. She was born June 8, 1931, in Lewiston, Utah, the daughter of Wilford Porter and LaVene Kent Waddoups. She married Mark Perry Shumway on Oct. 17, 1951, in the Logan Utah Temple.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served as Primary President, counselor in Mutual and as a Relief Society counselor. She was a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for more than ten years. She enjoyed gardening, reading and geneology.
She is survived by two daughters and three sons, Janice (O.J.) Harmon of West Valley City, Utah; Alan Dixon (Cindy) Shumway of Clover, Utah; Deanne Aardema of Stansbury Park, Utah; Dale Kent (Julie) Shumway of Grantsville, Utah; Tracy Lynn (Jana) Shumway of Sandy, Utah; by fifteen grandchildren and by eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark; by three sons, Charles Kenneth Shumway, Mark Perry Shumway Jr. and Michael Paul Shumway; by a sister, Bonnie Keller and by a brother, Dale Waddoups.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. in the Valley View Ninth Ward Chapel, 4101 S. 1925 E. (Gunderson Lane), Holladay, Utah. Friends may call Sunday from 5-6:30 p.m. at the church and Monday from 11-11:45 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. in the Franklin Idaho Cemetery.
