Logan, Utah - - - - William L. Hobbs
Logan - William L. Hobbs, 77, our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at his home in Logan, Utah. Bill was born July 11, 1933 in Cove, Utah to William Parkinson and Julia Vilate Hobbs. He attended Preston High School in Preston, Idaho where he graduated in 1951. He joined the Army and served his country in Japan during the Korean War. Bill married Donna Gaye Greaves, who preceded him in death. They were blessed with three children. He later married Elaine Robinson, who also preceded him in death. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.
Bill was involved in many business ventures. These included Little Mountain Mink and Fox Ranch, La Tienda, and various others. He also belonged to many organizations including the Elks, Furbreeders, and the LDS church. Bill Loved to be in the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, or horse racing. He enjoyed every minute of life.
He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Fawson and Gina Jensen, three step-sons Ryan (Wendy) Benson, Todd Benson, and Scott (Darlene) Benson, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three brothers Tim (Elaine) Hobbs, Bob (Irma) Hobbs, and Mike Hobbs, two sisters Lugene Neuenswander, and Betty (Ken) Morrison, and his good friend Sherrie Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Blake Hobbs, and his grandson Luke Jessop.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Logan 43rd Ward LDS Chapel, 1255 North 600 East, in Logan, UT. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new location 1005 South 800 East, in Preston, Idaho and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church in Logan.
