Warren Gene Lund, 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on February 18, 1946 to Fred Baker and Emma Margretha Gregersen Lund.
He attended and graduated from Preston High School. He was a dedicated and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Warren served in the US Army and later got a job working for LeGrand Johnson Construction where he was an equipment operator and specialized on a front end loader. He spent 20 years with LeGrand Johnson after which he worked on the farm full time. He was a creative inventor of various 1-person implements and tools used for farming. He had a penchant for keeping his machines and implements maintained and fully functional. He took pride in the appearance of his farm and was sure to keep its appearance up. His two faithful and loving dogs Teddy and Charlie will miss him dearly.
Warren is survived by his siblings Joan Phippen, of Ogden, UT; Fred Bernard (Maxine) Lund, of Blackfoot, ID; Ronald (Kay Lynn) Lund, of Midland, MI; Loren Lund of Preston, ID; and Gregory (Donna) Lund, of Trenton, UT. He is also survived by 30 nieces and nephews and other dear family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Ernest.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Winder Ward LDS Chapel, 4400 North 1600 West in Preston. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Saturday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. also at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
