Preston - I, Wanda Claudette Nash Swainston, 74, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Preston, Idaho. I was born in Logan, Utah on September 30, 1935 to Victor Paul and Wanda Bingham Nash. I lived in Linrose, Idaho and attended grade school there. I then attended Junior High and High school in Preston. I attended classes at Ricks College and the College of Southern Idaho and correspondent classes from BYU.
I married Norman Jay Swainston in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. We served a mission to the England Bristol Mission. I served in many callings in the church including Relief Society President, Young Women President, Primary President, and on the Young Women's Stake Board and Primary Stake Board. I loved the eight years I spent as a den mother for the Cub Scouts.
I am survived by my husband Norm, of Preston; my daughter Jerri (Jeff) Lowe, of Franklin, ID; two sons Ed Wheeler, of Grace, ID; and Paul (Melody) Wheeler, of Blackfoot, ID; 17 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Amber Wheeler, of Grace, a step-son (who is like a son) Raine (Wendy) Swainston, of Nampa, ID; a brother Victor Nash, of Preston, two sisters LaFaye Lowe, of Meridian, ID; and Paula Austin of Shelley, ID; and a sister-in-law Joan Nash, of Logan, UT. I was preceded in death by my son Wade Wheeler, my parents, and a brother Mondell Nash.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Franklin Stake Center in Franklin, Idaho. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center in Franklin. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
