Lewiston, Utah - - W.Craig Westover
Lewiston - After a 2 year courageous battle with cancer, Craig was called home to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. Craig was born 2 months early on December 16, 1940 weighing 4lbs 8oz. This did not hinder the growth of this great man. He was not only large in stature he also had a very large heart and was always willing to give of his time and skills.
He graduated from North Cache High School in 1958 and then attended Utah State University from 1958 to 1959. He served in the Southern Far East Mission from 1961 to 1963. Craig met his sweetheart, Barbara Smith in the Lewiston CafAC. and married her in the Logan LDS Temple on March 17, 1967.
Craig was civically active and served on the Lewiston City Council and made great improvements while in the Lions Club. He was a diary farmer who loved his herd and had a great respect for all animals. Craig always had a German Shepard at his side, in his truck, on his four-wheeler, or riding in the Kubota.
Craig spent many hours building furniture and turning wood on his lathe as well as creating model cabins and giving them to the people he loved. Craig also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He always had an opinion on politics, farming, and money that usually started with "I'm not telling you what to do, but if it was me."
Craig is survived by his wife, Barbara; his four children, Marjorie (Bret) Adamson of Benson, UT; Jason (Jonna) Westover of Lewiston; Wendy (Matt) Checketts of Riverton, UT; and Jennifer (Clint) Olpin of Logan, UT; six grandchildren, and his sister Joycelyn (Del) Tarbet of Lewiston; and brothers, Lewis (Diana) Westover of Glendale, AZ; and Ernest (Fran) Westover of Oregon City, OR.
