Preston - A beautiful baby girl was born in Roberts, Idaho on February 16, 1926 to Sarah Elizabeth Stevens and James Madison McClure. She was given the name of Violet Sarah. She grew up in a two room cabin with two sisters, Pearl and Mary, and seven brothers, Clarence, Jimmy, Don, Charley, Lewis, Leland, and Vert. Life was hard and most of the kids left home at a young age. Violet went to live with Paul and Edna Rottweiler in Roberts, to go to school. She graduated from Roberts High School. While there she met her husband of 52 years, Wallace Harris. They were married Dec 4, 1943 before Wally joined the Air Force. While in the service they lived in Amarillo and Marfa Texas. After Wally was discharged, they came home to Roberts and farmed there until Wally died in 1995. They raised five children on the farm.

Violet had many callings in the LDS Church, including Primary, Sunday School, and Stake and Ward Relief Society. Her favorite jobs were writing and directing road shows and Christmas plays. She worked at Dutson's Market for years, was the secretary at Midway Elementary, and spent many long hours helping Wally on the Farm. She mad beautiful quilts and was an excellent cook. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Violet passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Franklin County Medical Center, in Preston, Idaho. She is survived by her children, Randy (Cindy) Harris, of Preston, ID; Rick (Pam) Harris, of Roberts, ID; Tammy (Gaylord) Maughan, of Monteview, ID; and Myron Harris, of Roberts, ID; 19 grandchildren, and 54 great grandchildren; her brothers Charles (Millie) McClure, of Dubois, ID; Jimmy (Darlene) McClure, of Twin Falls, ID; and a younger sister Mary McClure, of Kalispell, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wally, and two sons Bradley, and Garth, a sister Pearl, and brothers Clarence, Don, Leland, Vert, and Lewis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Roberts, Idaho Stake Center, 663 North 2858 East in Roberts. A viewing will be held Friday from 6-7 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, in Preston, and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls at approximately 4:00 p.m. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
