Viola Lauritzen Bosen, 86, departed from Franklin County Transitional Care Unit on Sunday August 25, 2024 at dusk.
Vi was born at home close to Hot Springs Road in the Battle Creek area near Poverty Flats, Idaho on December 13, 1937.
She was the daughter of polio survivor, Jennie Ione Winn Lauritzen Stone and musician, Erhart Emil Lauritzen and the man she called dad, Lewis Housley Stone. Already in the family were her big brother, Roy and two sisters, Ethel Dene and Nancy.
She was fostered by her beloved Aunt Lilly Lauritzen, known for her impeccable manners and purple hair and Uncle Bill Lauritzen, Paris Idaho.
Viola gave up a blooming Las Vegas showgirl career and married the farm boy, whom she loved with all her heart, Clair D. Bosen.
She sacrificed her hourglass figure and gave birth to five children, Michael Clair, Carmen Lee, David Scott, Tracy Lewis and William D.
Mom was an accomplished actress, singer and beauty queen who dreamed of gracing the covers of Hollywood magazines……but instead sold cabbage by the head for 50 cents from the back of the family farm truck to earn money for her children’s school clothes.
Vi was known by many names, but her name of choice was Mom.
She was a Latter-day Saint extraordinaire
A disciple of Jesus Christ.
A friend to many, heart healer and champion of all underdogs
