Verdeen Corbridge Larsen

Verdeen Corbridge Larsen, 90, returned to her Heavenly home on October 31, 2023 while residing at the Autumn Care Center in Hyde Park, Utah from complications incident to age.

Verdeen was born July 8, 1933 in Preston, Idaho to James Heber Corbridge and Mary Cecelia Johnson. She lived on a small family farm located on the south end of Preston which provided for their needs during the hard times of the Great Depression. This taught her the value of hard work and making do with what you had, or making it yourself.

She attended school in Preston and graduated from Preston High School. She worked for a time as a soda jerk in Mels Drug Store while she was waiting for her high school sweetheart to return from his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was engaged to Arlando D. Larsen the day he returned. They were married on March 27, 1953 in the Logan Utah Temple. She was extremely proud of their 70-year love story.

Verdeen loved children and served many decades in the Primary and Nursery callings in the Church. She loved to sing and was a member of the Ward Choir as long as her voice let her. She was very proud of the large garden she and Arlando grew each year. She enjoyed camping in their camper, even if it was only overnight in the field while Arlando was doing the farm work. She also enjoyed the yearly deer hunts they went on.

Her greatest accomplishment was being a loving mother and housewife. She always had a warm inviting home and delicious food.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary; siblings; Barbara, Melvin, Doris, LaRue, Douglas, Neelyne, Oris and Mereda.

Verdeen is survived by her brother Reese (Deanna) Corbridge; her husband Arlando of 92 years; two children; Craig (Kathy) Larsen and Debra (Bert) Bartholomew. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Preston 5^th ward Chapel, 2^nd S. 2^nd E. Preston, Idaho. Viewings will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E. Preston and again prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Idaho Cemetery.
