Venna Gene Oliverson Robinett, 91, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2015 in the same house that she was born in on April 6, 1924, to Eunice Grace Baird and Orace Oliverson in Franklin, ID. She is survived by her daughter, Judy M Robinett, of Franklin.
She went to Sunday school in the old Franklin Village Hall and attended schools in Franklin. Venna graduated from Franklin High School in the Class of 1942. After graduating, she went to work for Union Pacific Railroad in Ogden, UT, turning the engines in the Wheelhouse during WWII. The railway turntable was used to turn the engines back in the direction that they came. On September 28, 1951, she married Loren Robert Robinett in the chapel at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, UT. They lived in Utah, Texas, Wyoming, New Mexico and Washington. When Loren retired from the USAF in 1963 they moved back to Franklin and bought the house next door to her parents.
Venna worked at Ritewood Egg Company in Franklin before retiring to work in her garden and tend to her cats. Venna loved to read; and she loved her flowers and her cats. She also enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting over the years and left many exhibits of her abilities. We were always surprised when she would ask if the mail had come so that she could read that day’s Wall Street Journal.
We would like to thank everyone who has been so helpful these past months when needed, especially Dee Burgess and Lauren Haynes, RN, for the care and friendship they provided, friends and neighbors who have been there for her and the family; in particular, Jeanne Smith, Marilyn Sanchez and Todd Hawkes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Franklin Stake Center, 106 E. Main, Franklin, Idaho. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
