Veda Goodsell Fellows passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the age of 96. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Veda was born April 13, 1922 in Weston, Idaho to Albert Eugene and Annie Melissa Goodsell. She was the second daughter and the tenth of twelve children born to this union. She married Joseph R. Fellows on April 25, 1939 and was sealed in the Logan Utah Temple on March 1, 1948. She often said her greatest joy was her six children: Jolene (Lynn) Winward, Maxine (William) Poole, Robert R (DeAnn) Fellows, William Earl (Cindy) Fellows, Wayne G. (Ann) Fellows, and Jed W. (Betty) Fellows.
Her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave her opportunities to grow spiritually. She learned leadership skills through years of service in Relief Society and Primary. That service fed the part of her that yearned for a closeness with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She found much satisfaction by serving in the Franklin County Homemaking Council and many years with the Pink Ladies. She loved to play cards with her friends on Thursdays. It was one thing that she looked forward to every two weeks. She was kidded about going to gamble with the widow’s club. Sincere appreciation to these great ladies for their wonderful contribution to her life. Through her love of reading, she had an ongoing discovery of the world and life.
Veda was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (Joe); by a son, William (Earl); by her parents and by eleven siblings. She has 28 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at noon in the Preston Third Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
