U-Vonna Winward Nash

FRANKLIN, Idaho U-Vonna W. Nash

U-Vonna Winward Nash, 83, passed away July 14, 2012 near her children in Orem, Utah. She was born, November 1, 1928 in Clifton, Idaho to Bertie William Winward Jr. and Elizabeth Wuthrich Winward. She married Lyle Bartlett Nash on April 9, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. Four years ago, Lyle passed away. Now they are reunited once again.

U-Vonna was born and lived on a farm in Clifton, Idaho. She was the oldest in a family of twelve children. She learned how to work at an early age and was a hard worker her entire life. She loved to keep busy and make things. Many memories of her talents live on with her children, grandchildren, and others, from the things she made and gave to them during her life.

After Lyle and U-Vonna were married, they moved to the Nash family farm north of Franklin. There they raised their family, while working on the farm, raising crops, and running a small diary herd. U-Vonna was always involved with the work on their farm, helping Lyle milk the cows, drive trucks, etc. while he also worked his other jobs at the Dairy and Sugar Factories, as they raised their family together.

After their children were grown, Lyle and U-Vonna sold the farm and moved back to Franklin, where they lived together until Lyle passed away. The grandchildren loved going to visit Grandma Nash. She never failed to have a special candy treat for them, or an ice-cream bar in the freezer.

U-Vonna continued to live in Franklin until her health necessitated moving closer to her children where they could help her when needed. U-Vonna was a friend to many people and loved visiting and talking with them. She served in many callings in the LDS church and was a great example to her children and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Suzan (Terry) Maio, South Jordan, Ut; Beverly (Kelly) McDonald, Provo, Ut; Larry Bartlett (Linda) Nash, Provo, Ut; David Lyle (Christine) Nash, Riverton, Ut; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Paul (Elaine) Winward, Dayton, Id; Edward (Tara, Margaret-deceased) Winward, Orem, Ut; Delora (Blair) Henderson), Dayton, Id; William (Elda) Winward, Preston, Id; Alma (Bonnie) Winward, Ogden, Ut; Brent (Diane) Winward, Malad, Id; Elaine (Willard-deceased) Gailey, Clifton, Id; Linda Winward, Ogden, Ut; Judy (Kent) Howell, Clifton, ID.
