Tyler Jeffrey Chase, age 27, passed away surrounded by family and friends, earthly and heavenly, on September 27, 2024, following a motorcycle accident.
Tyler was born to Gordon and RaNaun Chase on June 26, 1997, and grew up in Richmond Utah. He loved computers and gaming, scouting, nerf and airsoft wars with his buddies, and spending time with his family, especially his dad. Tyler made deep and lasting friendships everywhere he went, particularly his high school friend group - lovingly nicknamed “the hosers.” In his junior year of high school Tyler began his career in IT at Alltech. After graduating from Sky View High School Tyler served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Arizona Gilbert Mission. Following his mission, he resumed his career with Alltech and played an integral part of their team.
Tyler enjoyed many skills and hobbies, including bowling, baking, smoking delicious meats and Mac and Cheese, working on old vehicles, motorcycling, soccer, softball, weightlifting, and photography. Tyler loved history, politics, and the Gospel. He was a collector of many good books. He loved firearms, particularly those with historical significance. He loved to beautify his home and keep it tidy and peaceful - a perfect place for hosting family and friends. He was sarcastic, witty, and loved deep, meaningful conversation.
Tyler faithfully served on the Smithfield YSA High Council. His contributions to the stake were innumerable, including his earlier roles as Assistant Stake Clerk, where he showcased his expertise in technology, and as the Stake Sunday School President. His dedication and passion for the gospel were evident in everything he did.
Though his life was short and ended suddenly, he completed his earthly mission and touched the lives of all who knew him. Tyler will forever be etched in our hearts.
Tyler is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Chase, both sets of Grandparents and several uncles.
He is survived by his mother, RaNaun. brothers, Brian (Robin) Chase, Wayne (Stephanie) Findlay. Sisters, Sholly (Steve) Jorgensen, Tracina (Adam) Penrose, Clarissa (John) Trexler, and Marquesas (Ansen) Hoyt. As well as many nieces and nephews who love him so much!
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Richmond Stake Center, 135 W. Main Richmond, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm at the stake center and and Friday from 10-11:30 am also at the church. Interment will be in the Smithfield Utah Cemetery.
