PRESTON, IDAHO - - TWILA GIBBS
PRESTON- Twila Jepsen Gibbs, 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston after a short illness surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 3, 1927, in Mink Creek, Idaho, one of fourteen children born to Thomas and Anna Christena Christensen Jepsen. She grew up in Mink Creek a happy child in a loving family. She attended high school in Preston and worked at the drug store.
She married Richard Kay Gibbs on June 19, 1946, in Elko, Nevada, when she was 19 years old. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Before Kay's death they celebrated more than 50 years together.
Before her 22nd birthday, she was the mother of four children under the age of two. She had twins, Thomas Kay (deceased) and Donna Rae (Raymond) Olsen of Salt Lake City, Utah, followed by Richard Neal (Jan) Gibbs of Swan Lake, Idaho and DeeAnn (Ralph) Wilkes of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and spouses, by fifteen great-grandchildren, by two sisters and two brothers, Maida Nielsen of Salt Lake City, Utah; Milo (Luella) Jepsen of Las Vegas, Nevada; Lafe (Rayma) Jepsen of Preston; and Joyolin Henderson of Swan Lake, Idaho. She was also preceded in death by ten siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at noon in the Preston Tenth Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, with Bishop Michael Andrus conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, and Saturday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.
