Troy Thomas Westerberg, 49, of Challis, Idaho son of Margaret and Steven Westerberg of Preston, Idaho passed away suddenly of a heart attack in Idaho Falls, Idaho on April 14, 2015. He was born on June 24, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah. His growing up years were mostly spent in Memphis, Tennessee.

He spent most of his adult life in Denver, Colorado which he thought was the greatest place on earth. He worked as an internet technician earlier there and after many years of hard work he pursued a career in pharmacy at the University of Colorado Pharmacy school and received his doctorate degree in pharmacy. He loved his work and felt like he had accomplished his dream. Troy lived abroad for several years, and loved it but decided that Denver was his home and missed his friends and family.

Troy was a very loving son, funny, quick witted and was extremely intelligent. He was very electronically minded and used the knowledge he had for learning many new things. He enjoyed the outdoors, snow skiing, rollerblading and some cycling. he loved taking photos of beautiful scenery or something that was unusual that he could share with others. His biggest enjoyment was coming home after work, relaxing and spending time on the computer.

We all feel blessed to have had Troy in our lives. We learned much from his quirkiness and his sometimes off-the-wall views. This is what we loved about him. He kept us on our toes. We miss him but we know he is at peace and that our Heavenly Father loves him and those who have gone before him are wrapping their arms around him in a great reunion.

He is survived by his parents Steven and Margaret Westerberg, his sister Tiffany (Mark) Hancey, of North Logan, UT; and his brothers Tyler (Julia) Westerberg, of Colorado Springs, CO; and Travis Westerberg of Pueblo, CO. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
