Preston, Idaho - Troy Duane Twiss (Twisster) and Jerusha Faulkner Twiss (Roosh), both 44, of Preston, ID succumbed to injuries received in a motorcycle accident on July 21, 2013, near the Wyoming/Idaho border.
Troy was born January 29, 1969, in Soda Springs, Idaho to Kent and Shanna Twiss.
Jerusha was born August 12, 1968, in Provo, Utah to J. Earl and Joyce Faulkner .
They were married for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on August 10, 1990. They lived in Orem, UT and Georgetown, ID, before relocating to Preston, ID in 2001.
Troy graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1987. He served an LDS Mission in the West Virginia/Washington DC area. After returning from his mission he worked at Deer Valley Ski Resort in Park City, Utah. It was then when he met the love of his life. It was love at first sight.
Jerusha graduated from Mountain View High School in 1986. She went on to become a Medical Assistant and has worked for medical clinics in Utah and Idaho and a nursing home in Preston. She was currently working for Dr. Eskelson in Preston.
Troy and Jerusha have served in various callings in the LDS church. Troy especially loved scouting and Jerusha loved Young Women's and Primary.
Troy was devoted to his work and always gave 100% to anything he set his mind to. Jerusha possessed a high energy level and was very easy to laugh and have a good time with. The two of them were completely committed to their children and each other. They welcomed many foster kids into their home throughout their life together as well. They enjoyed many activities together such as traveling, camping, boating, hunting, and visiting with extended family.
Troy has worked at Monsanto since 1991 and currently served as Contractor Safety Supervisor . He loved his work and the people he worked with. He also volunteered with the Preston Fire Brigade as a fire fighter.
They are survived by their children, Casey (Justin) Daley serving in Germany , Logan, and Corban of Preston. Troy's Parents of Mesquite, Nevada, his siblings, Lauri (Jason) King of Montpelier, ID and Natalie (Clint) Hanson of Shelley, ID. Grandmothers Dorothy Hartley and Leona Twiss Jerusha's siblings, Lori (Scott) Smith of Orem , Ut, Holly Graczyk of Aurora, Colorado, Rocky Graczyk of Salt Lake City, Utah, Becky (Andy) Horlacher of Sandy, Utah, James Faulkner (MaryEllen) of Orem, Utah, and Robert Faulkner of Orem, Utah and many nieces and nephews . Good friends Wayne and Nancy Christiansen who were as surrogate parents to Jerusha when she lost her mother at 6 years of age and father at 18.
Troy was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Glen Hartley and Paul Twiss. And two uncles Kurt Hartley and Royden Arnell.
Jerusha was preceded in death by her parents, J. Earl and Joyce Faulkner, grandparents, James and Edna Faulkner and Earl and Elsie Christenson. Sister in law Nannette Faulkner , Aunt and Uncle Robert and Katy Christenson and Uncle Ronald Christenson.
Funeral services will be held at the Franklin Stake Center, 106 East Main, on Saturday July 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Jim Summers conducting. A viewing will be held on Friday July 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Franklin Stake Center. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East in Orem, UT at approximately 3:30 - 4:00 p.m.
The Family would like to thank all those bystanders, paramedics, police and fire department who helped at the crash site. Also friends and neighbors for caring for our family in many ways.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a trust fund that has been set up for the children at US Bank account donations can be made under the name of Logan Twiss.
