Terry Layne Buttars

PRESTON, IDAHO TERRY BUTTARS

PRESTON- Terry Layne Buttars, 57, passed Friday night, Sept. 14, 2012, surrounded by his family after two years battling brain cancer. He was born Sept. 2, 1955, in Preston, Idaho the son of Val Layne Buttars and Etta Mae Carpenter.

In his life Terry has had many adventures and played almost as hard as he worked. He loved the outdoors-fishing, hunting and camping. He had big plans to take his grandson, Devon, turkey hunting and they would talk about it everyday. Our father always had a story to tell and each time it was told it would change just a little but we would let him tell us again. We will miss his humor and the ability he had to make friends everywhere he went and ended being family-Gina and Kelly being just two of those people. In our last years, our family has grown closer and we all were inspired by the strength terry had. He always had a smile, a story of faith in his heart. He endured it all for one more day watching his grandkids play sports, holding hands with Mandy, fishing with his Reiny, winning money from the card games with Colton, visiting his friends and family or one more ride with his soul mate, Joyce. Terry would not want us to cry for him but to celebrate his life turn the music up and Ride On.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Preston; two daughters, Mandy Buttars of Preston; Reiny Buttars of Pocatello, Idaho; a son, Colton Buttars of Pocatello, Idaho; five grandchildren- Devon, Derrek, Jaden, Bryer and Aspen; one brother and four sisters, David (Sheryl) Nelson of Nibley, Utah; Kathy (Steve) Stevens of Logan, Utah; Alana Buttars of Preston; Denise Sohns of Logan, Utah; and Julie (Jeff) Olsen of Preston. He was preceded in death by a brother, Todd Buttars and by a brother-in-law, Barry Sohns.

Friends may call Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, from 6-8 pm at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. There will be a memorial service and military rites on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. near the Bear River at the intersection of Highway 34 and Highway 36 in Riverdale, Idaho. Interment will be in the Preston Idaho Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
