Taylor Mickell Porter was born May 23, 2016 and passed away peacefully in her daddy’s arms a short time later. She was greeted by her dad and mom, Mike and Misty Porter, three older brothers Tate, Ty, and Traigen and an anxiously awaiting big sister, Taylee.
Taylor was born at 7:52 a.m. and weighed 1 pound 15 ounces and was 13 ¼ inches long. This precious little spirit that was so anxious to meet her family, was born at a mere 29 weeks. Taylor was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 when she was 20 weeks old. In most cases these babies pass away in the first trimester, but Taylor was determined to meet her family. She was absolutely beautiful and looked like a perfect little angel with none of the physical abnormalities usually associated with Trisomy 18. Even though her little heart only had one chamber – it was able to beat strong for a little over two hours, and we got to hear a few of the cutest little cries you have ever heard.
We love her to pieces and we will miss her so much, but we know she will always be near us, and that someday we will have the chance to raise this precious little angel. She was welcomed home by her big brother Michael James Porter and many relatives.
She is survived by her grandparents Doug and Debbie Porter, Franklin Idaho; Jim and Trudy Shearer, Blanding Utah; great-grandparents, Robert and Henriette Haworth, and Fern Porter, of Franklin; great-great-grandmother, Anne Hiller of Salt Lake City, Utah; and dozens of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. We are so grateful for each beautiful moment we were able to share with Taylor. Her incredible spirit was felt by all. She will be greatly missed, and our lives will forever be changed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at noon in the Franklin Stake Center with Bishop Denton Harris conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
