T. Bruce Alder

Theo Bruce Alder, 78, passed away on Aug. 26, 2013, at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was born Feb. 24, 1935, in Preston, Idaho, the son of George Edwin and Florence Viola Webb Alder. He served an LDS Mission to North Carolina and Virginia. He married Coreen Barfuss on Aug. 19, 1960, in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.

He graduated from Utah State University and taught elementary school for 36 years in Salt Lake City and Preston. He also operated a family owned dairy. He loved the outdoors- especially hunting. He enjoyed going to his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He had a wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter, Kraig (Ronda) Alder of Cub River, Idaho; Glenn (Dylynn) Alder of Preston; Kelle (Sondra) Alder of Preston; and Katherine Alder of Preston; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and by a brother, Delbert (Shirley) Alder of Blackfoot, Idaho, and a daughter-n-law Ruby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Coreen; by a son, Curtis; by a brother, Mack and by a sister, Alene Porter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitney Second Ward Chapel, 1444 South 1600 East, Whitney, Idaho, with Bishop Jim Summers conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
