Susan Sparks

Susan Sparks, age 48, passed away on July 15, 2024, at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on December 30, 1975, in Yerington, Nevada, to Norman and Hazel (Sant) Sparks. Susan spent her childhood and youth in Preston, Idaho, before relocating to Logan, Utah, and then to Salt Lake City, Utah. In her life, that was far too short, Susan lived each day to the fullest - infusing so many moments with her joy, optimism, and love. She enjoyed a career as a retail sales clerk for Walmart, building many lasting friendships, before “retiring” to write fantasy stories, attend Scottish festivals and Renaissance Faires, and spend time with her dear friends and family. 

Susan was a remarkable daughter, a generous and loyal sister, a loving and devoted aunt to her nephew Noah, and a true friend to so many. Susan is survived by her six siblings: Roger (Julie Tomich) Sparks of Arizona; Dan (Kari) Sparks of Lehi, Utah; William (Heather) Sparks of Sandy, Utah; Catharine Sparks of Salt Lake City, Utah; Michael (Brieanne) Sparks of Logan, Utah; Joann (Deric Brown) Sparks of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Maggie. The family would like to thank the staff at Webb Funeral Home for their loving care of Susan, and Inspiration Hospice Services for their gentle care of Susan in her final days.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 12:00pm at Webb Funeral Home, 1055 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho. A viewing will also be held at the funeral home that morning from 10:30-11:30am. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com.
