Susan C. Dunkley

Susan Cartwright Dunkley, 74 passed away peacefully at her home on July 20, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on February 19, 1949, in Logan, Utah to Leonard and Barbara Cartwright.

 She grew up in Richmond, Utah and graduated from Sky View High School and later Hollywood Beauty School. She met her husband Larry Dunkley on a blind date and the two were married on September 12, 1969, in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with a daughter Angie and a son Ryan.

Sue made a career running a successful beauty salon out of her home. She loved her work because of the lifelong friends she made with her clients, who loved socializing in her salon. She was talented with her craft and many of her clients referred to her as an artist of hair. Sue loved to shop (frequenting TJ Maxx often), work in her flower beds, and go on RZR rides with Larry. She put tremendous love and care into gardening and meticulously maintained a beautiful flower garden. Sue’s caring nature was also felt by all the neighborhood stray cats.

Sue’s pride and joy was her granddaughter Shantell and great granddaughter Berkeley Sue. Her daughter Angie was not only her best friend but also a lifelong neighbor. Susan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many callings throughout the years. Larry and Sue served as temple workers in the Logan Temple for six years. Susan was an incredible pianist and organist, which aided her well in the callings she found joy in serving.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Barbara, brother Gordon, sister Beth, and her beloved son Ryan. She is survived by her husband Larry, daughter Angie (Brent) King, granddaughter Shantell (Trevor) Brown, great granddaughter Berkeley Sue, brother Dennis (Terri) Cartwright. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 12:00 p.m.  in the Richmond 4th Ward Building, 150 South 100 East, Richmond, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church building and Friday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services.  Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com
