Preston, Idaho - - - Stanley P. Bingham
Preston - In loving memory, our dear husband, and father, Stanley Pratt Bingham, 82, passed away after a long illness on January 10, 2012 at the Franklin County Medical Center, in Preston, Idaho. He was born on July 27, 1929 in Amalga, Utah to Jeddie Arch Bingham and Gladys Irene Lott. He married Georgia Chadwick Bingham on June 2, 1948 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a home teacher and in the High Priests Quorum Presidency. He was in the National Guard and served in the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. His kids have fond memories of hunting and fishing with their dad. One of his hobbies was re-loading his own ammunition and helping family and friends restore their old guns.
Stanley worked construction and in mechanical repair. He had a knack for repairing anything. He would often have his own name for parts and would chuckle when his wife and the clerk couldn't find them. He loved to garden and shared his knowledge of gardening and produce with everyone. We were very grateful for the things he shared and taught us. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Georgia, of Preston; daughters Sheryl (Fred) Phillips, of Star, ID; Janet (Kirk) Widmer, of Geneva, ID; Elaine (Scott) Eppich, of Alpine, UT; Lori (Brett) Howard, of Smithfield, UT; and Lynette (Darren) LaMay, of Las Vegas, NV; and a son Sidney Bingham, of Smithfield, UT; 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, and a brother Vernon (Berniece) Bingham, of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Michael and Jed E. Bingham, and siblings Budd Bingham, Jeddie Bingham, Marzella Nelson, and Ronald Bingham.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview LDS Chapel, 165 West 4800 South in Preston with Bishop Lewis Palmer conducting.
