Preston - Our father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed through the veil into the arms of his sweetheart on September 7, 2012 just days before his 97th birthday. He was born on September 25, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Sidney Barke Hanger and Minnie Fairbourn. He married his sweetheart Virgina "Peggy" Brooks on June 1, 1939 in the SLC Temple. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2003. He later married his second sweetheart Ruth Deakins on February 14, 2005. She also preceded him in death on September 7, 2011.

He spent most of his life in Salt Lake City, West Jordan, and Bountiful, Utah. His last year was spent with his son Robert in Preston, Idaho. He was a third generation wallpaper hanger and was an artist with the work. He also taught ballroom dancing for many years and loved to play the piano. He was an active member of the LDS Church and was an Eagle Scout. He loved owning and driving fancy cars and would take his sweetheart on many wonderful drives.

Sidney is survived by his two sons Robert (Wendy) Hanger, of Preston, ID; Jay (Cheryl) Hanger of West Jordan, UT; 11 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Peggy and Ruth, two sisters, one brother, and a grandson Eric Hanger.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Chapel located at 1250 South Main Street in Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, Idaho and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church in Bountiful.
