CALDWELL, IDAHO - - SCOTT K. CARTER
CALDWELL- Scott K Carter, 88, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Middleton, Idaho. He was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Jesse Willmore and Sadie Kershaw Carter. He married Leslia Marie Kaufman on Oct. 29, 1943, in San Diego, California. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.
He served in the Coast Guard (Navy) during World War II. He graduated from Utah State University and then attended Stanford University School of Law and graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He practiced law in California. He also served as District Attorney of Tuolumne County for 12 years. He had a private law practice in Sonora, California and was an attorney for the California State Public Utilities Commission in San Francisco at the time of his retirement in 1982. He then moved to Preston, Idaho and later Middleton, Idaho.
He was an ordinance worker in the Logan Temple and served in several different church callings. He spent many happy hours hunting and flying airplanes. He enjoyed rebuilding antique airplanes.
He is survived by his wife, Leslia of Caldwell; two daughters and one son, Betty Jean (Raymond) Dye of Oceanside, Calif; Scott K. (Helen) Carter of Middleton, Idaho; Paula Castaneda of Modesto, Calif; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and three sisters, Ludean (George) Baird of Boise, Idaho; Cliss Choules of Hagerman, Idaho; and Myrna Low of Smithfield, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1st S., Preston, Idaho. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
