Sadie Griffiths Hatch, 84, passed away June 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving family after suffering a debilitating stroke. Sadie was born on June 30, 1934 to Adline & Andrew Griffiths in Clarkston, Utah. She loved her Cache Valley home and felt blessed to be back in Cache Valley for the last 18 months. She graduated from North Cache High School with many friends. She worked at the cannery in Smithfield and the sewing plant in Logan. She met her sweetheart in Clarkston at the Clarkston Gas Station. She married Earl C Hatch in the Logan LDS Temple on November 23, 1955. Their first home was in Logan near the temple which allowed them to attend the temple weekly for their date night. Earl & Sadie lived in Farmington and Ogden before moving to Richfield where they raised their 7 children. She and Earl spent many happy years in Richfield, Utah where they made many life-long friends.
Sadie was an amazing homemaker with many talents in the kitchen and in sewing. She and Earl always had a beautiful garden and she was very proud of her canning skills. She provided daycare in her home for 15 years. She shared her cooking talents in the school lunch program. She and Earl hosted Navajo Indian children in their home. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She and Earl served in the Manti LDS Temple for 12 years. She had a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her sweet spirit could be felt by all who knew her.
She loved to watch the Utah Jazz. She kept a meticulous record of each games score. She loved to go on walks and see the beauty of the flowers around in the Springtime. She loved to play card games with her family and was known for bringing out the “good treats” whenever family showed up to play a game with her. She loved to spend time with her family camping, in Park City or at the Cabin. She was able to travel with her family to many places and enjoyed seeing the different sites.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; sisters Lydia Benson, VaLoice Griffiths and brother, Lowell Griffiths. She is survived by her loving children: Carolyn (Rich) White, (College Station, TX), Garth (Jacque) Hatch, (Lehi, UT), Valerie (Brent) Tuckett, (Lehi, UT), Sandra (Bill) Hoddenbach, (Bountiful, UT), David (Michelle) Hatch, (Nibley, UT), Wayne (Rochelle) Hatch, (Glenwood, UT), and Mark (ShonTae) Hatch, (Richfield, UT).
