Ruth Stevenson

Ruth Hunter Stevenson, 95, of Linrose, ID passed away peacefully Saturday, November 14, 2015 leaving a legacy of family, faith, laughter, and love. She was born April 3, 1920 in Taylor, UT to John and Annis Hunter. Ruth enjoyed life to the fullest. Growing up she played the banjo, sang in the opera, helped on the farm, and played on the school softball team. She graduated from Weber High School as an honor student.

On November 6, 1938, she met Harold Stevenson during Sunday School while visiting family. A year later, she married that cute boy on November 29, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They raised seven beautiful children on their 80 acre farm in Linrose, ID. She loved serving her family and her Heavenly Father. She was always serving as a visiting teacher and in various church callings. She loved going to the temple and treasured the time she and Harold served as temple workers. She was a hard worker and never sat still for long. The grandchildren will always remember grandma’s homemade cinnamon rolls with caramel frosting or getting one of her Creamies from the freezer.

She is survived by her 7 children:  H. Dean (Fae) Stevenson, Blaine H. (Judith) Stevenson, Ruth Ann Rasmussen, Connie (Rod) Derrick, Mary (Larry) Biggs, Richard (Christy) Stevenson, Linda (Michael) Dunn. She had 31 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; four siblings; a son-in-law, Lorin Rasmussen; and two grandsons, Alan Lewis and Clair Rasmussen.
