Ronda Alder

Ronda Weeks Alder lost her life June 1, 2017 as the result of a severe car accident in Lewiston, Utah. Ronda was born January 24, 1965 to Merlin and Diane Weeks in Preston, ID. She grew up helping on the family farm in Lewiston, UT –the third child of seven. She graduated from Sky View High School in 1983.  She married Kraig Alder on April 4, 1986 in Whitney, ID and since then he’s always maintained that he is the luckiest man on the planet. They have three daughters and were sealed April 4, 2007 in the Logan Temple.

She built her life around her family; enjoying activities such as hunting, archery, horseback riding, camping and four-wheeler riding but always with family. As a wife and mother she was unfailingly supportive and always encouraged those she loved to do their best and what they loved. As she served in church callings she gave full devotion wherever she was called. She served many years with the Young Women including as her ward Young Women’s President and Stake Young Women’s Secretary. At her passing she was serving as her ward Relief Society President.

Ronda’s left an example to be admired from a life of love and service. Her family aches at her absence but looks forward to an eternal reunion.

She is survived by her husband Kraig Edwin Alder, their daughters Brandi (Stewart) Hansen, Kristin (Dacoda) Elison, and Ariel (Alex) Burbank, and two grandchildren Hugh and Islee Hansen. Also, her parents Merlin and Diane Weeks of Lewiston, UT and her six siblings: Stuart (Susan) Weeks of Challis , ID, Darrin (Kimberly) Weeks of Provo, UT, Dylynn (Glenn) Alder of Fairview, ID, Matthew Weeks of Glen Allen, VA, Jill (Scott) Hobbs of Idaho Falls, ID, and Camille (Karl) Nelson of Lewiston, UT.  She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Curtis Alder, parents-in-law Bruce and Coreen Alder, and a sister-in-law Susan Weeks.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mapleton Ward Chapel, 5307 East Cub River Road in Preston. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mapleton Cemetery.
