PRESTON, IDAHO - - ROBERT "BOB" LARSON
PRESTON- Robert D. "Bob" Larson, 68, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010, peacefully at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston from pancreatic cancer. He was born Aug. 2, 1941, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Gaylord C. and Lorna B. Larson. He was the older of two children, having one younger sister, Francis.
He grew up in Preston and survived polio at the age of five, and in 2005, he survived male breast cancer. He graduated from Preston High School in 1959. He married Dolly Lewis on Nov. 10, 1961, in Lewiston, Utah. To this marriage two sons were born: Zann and Terry. Bob was so very proud of his two boys. He enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles and singing in his quartet, "The Coachmen" with Malin Davis, John Olsen and Keith Wright. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bob had many professions in his life, but the one he enjoyed the most was being an industrial journeyman electrician. He was a member of the Preston Elks Lodge and served as Exalted Ruler in 1998-99. He was a fan of the Utah Jazz, NASCAR and NHRA drag racing. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly, of Preston; sons, Zann (Noelle) Larson of Clifton, Idaho; Terry (Christine) Larson of Preston; ten grandchildren, Alicia (Trever) Zohner; Chelsy (Adam) Bailey; Haley; Zachary, Meagen (Jacob-fiance);Taylor-Anne; Kyle; McKenzie; Harley and Rhett; by one great-grandchild, Jaden; and by his sister, Francis (Dennis) Byington. He was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws, Dick and Afton Lewis. The family would like to thank Dr. Beckstead and staff and the nurses at FCMC for the care they provided.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston Eighth Ward Chapel, 213 S. 200 E., Preston, with Bishop Randy Wakley conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home's new facility, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
