Riverdale - Robert George Henderson, 85, a man of unlimited love, talent and devotion to his wife, family, grandkids, and church, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. He was born on August 21, 1927 in Swan Lake, Idaho to Hyrum Lester and Millie Pratt Henderson. He married Betty Jean Keller on June 10, 1966 in Pocatello, Idaho.

Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions but loved working with the Scouts the most. He thoroughly enjoyed watching Western movies, particularly John Wayne Westerns. He was good yodeler and had a bit of a sweet tooth. He was a rancher at heart and loved his cows, horses, dogs and cats. He owned and operated his own diesel repair shop, Henderson Diesel and the shop was always open to any neighbor that came in and he would drop what he was doing to help them.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Riverdale; his children Karen (Alan) Murray, of Smithfield, UT; Sue (Garry) Purkey of Pocatello, ID; Pamela (Andy) Stevenson, of Mt Home, ID; Duane (Betty Jean) Christensen, of Bend, OR; Nadine (Richard) Umbel, of Preston, ID; Craig and Lou Seamons, Laurine (Jim) Bingham, of Saint Johns, AZ; Daren (Shalae) Henderson, of Preston, ID; he is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren, and a brother Reed (Lela) Henderson, of Preston, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Wendelene Keller, a twin brother at birth, and siblings Don Henderson, Norma Barnes, Cal Henderson, Lola Burnclau, Harvey Henderson, and Errol Henderson, grandsons Adam Bensen and Ryan Bingham, and a great granddaughter Kaylee Mosely.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Riverdale 1st Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Boyd Bradford conducting. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston, and Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church in Riverdale. Interment will be in the Riverdale Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.

He lead a life of service and was an example for the world to follow. He was welcomed home by many loved ones, including his Father in Heaven. Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
