Cub River - Robert Eugene "Etmo" Hull, 96, loved by all and friend to everyone, passed away on December 20, 2011 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. He was born on November 28, 1915 in Whitney, Idaho to LeRoy Hull and Allabelle Weaver.
One can't describe his life in this small space, but Dad attended school in Preston and spent many years in the hills tending cattle and sheep for his father. Striking out on his own, he went to the Ontario, Oregon area and bought a ranch. As fate would have it, the war was looming and he decided to volunteer for a year, which turned into five! He served in the US Army during WWII in Europe and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a fabulous cook and loved family get-togethers. He was a horseman and a cowboy as well as a rancher. He served as Scout Master for many years. He had a fun, loving sense of humor, even up to the morning of his death. He will always be remembered for his favorite saying, "Auf Wiedersehen! See you later in life!"
He married Portia Neeley Nelson and they were divorced. Later he married Barbara Goldberg and they were also divorced.
He is survived by his son David (Patsy) Hull, of Clovis, CA; and Meredith Windsor, of Preston, ID; six grandchildren Christina (Justin) Hall; Ryan (Amy) Hull, and Robert "Rob" Hull. Meredith's children, Kevin (Elizabeth) Windsor, Valerie Clausen, and Kathleen (John) Ricker, 18 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren; his last surviving brother Gilbert "Gib" (Marilyn) Hull; of Logan, UT; and much loved sister-in-law Ruby Hull, of St George, UT; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roland (Roll), Clair (Peck), DeLyle (Kat), Cherril (Chick), and a sister Tyra.
His life celebration will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mapleton LDS Chapel with Bishop Stuart Burbank conducting. A viewing will be held at Webb Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM and before the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery with full Military honors. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com and on Facebook.
