WESTON, IDAHO - - RICHARD REID
WESTON- Richard Bruce Reid, 73, has been called to a better place on Sept. 15, 2012, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 30, 1939, in Leola Township, Wisconsin to Ora Glenn Reid and Flora Ceicle Elliott. He was the third of five children.
He met and married MaryAnn Mock of Minot, North Dakota and had three daughters, Christina, Glenda and Tina. They divorced a short time later. He then met and married Karen Nelson of Twin Falls, Idaho and they had three children, Bruce, Dawn and Richard. They later divorced. He then met and married the love of his life, Martha Gibson of Twin Falls, Idaho. They had two daughters, Carla and Flora and they were together for thirty-five years until his passing.
Richard and Martha resided in Weston where they enjoyed many activities. He loved being outdoors- camping, fishing, gardening, bird watching and mowing the lawn were some of his favorite things to do. Richard took up bee keeping in the last two years and built and managed two hives with his grandchildren. He loved his family more than life itself. All activities, pictures and free time were spent with those he loved!
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a primary leader, in the Sunday School presidency, in the High Priest group leadership and as a member of the bishopric. He was in the United States Army serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Reid of Weston; daughters, Glenda Burtch of Minot, ND; Tina (Gary) Lee of Burlington, ND; Dawn (Wes) Spurgeon of Wisconsin; Carla (Cody) Chatterton of Preston, Idaho; Flora Greene (Chris Annable) of Weston, Idaho; by a daughter-in-law, Audry Carl of Hammett, Idaho; by eleven grandchildren: Casey and Cody Emerick, Daymion and Zach Spurgeon, Ealyann and Dominick Carl, Sierra and MaKayla Hoppie and Tayson, Jaxon and Saige Greene; by one great granddaughter, Daniela Emerick; and by his mother, Flora Reid of Plainfield, Wisconsin.
