PRESTON, IDAHO REVA MILLER
PRESTON- Reva Mae Wear Miller, 84, passed away on March 22, 2012, in Preston, Idaho. She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Camp Point, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle McGartland Wear. She married Raymond Miller in 1970 at the First Christian Church in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Reva was an active member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk, TOPS, Teacher's Association and she was a great and respected school teacher. She enjoyed reading, traveling, friends, family, art, sewing and collecting. She was an active Democrat and she participated in many political events.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Gillespie of Keokuk, Iowa; a grandson, Jerry (Brandy) Gillespie Jr. of Preston, Idaho; a granddaughter, Jonell Gillespie of Keokuk, Iowa; a sister, Doloris (Marion) Turner of Hamilton, Illinois; and by five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, by three brothers, Floyd, Thomas and Willis Wear and by a sister, Erma Thompson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Keokuk, Iowa. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center, 917 Blondeau St., Keokuk, Iowa, and Wednesday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the First Christian Church.
