Rebecca “Beckie” Bennion, 61, returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 15th, 2025, at her son’s home in Franklin, Idaho. Her dad was by her side as she was released from her two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 16th, 1963, to Lois Sadler and Barton Evan Bennion as the fifth of eight children and the first of two daughters. They instilled in her a love for family and heart for serving others.
She grew up in and around Vernal, Utah, and moved to Georgia at the age of 25. Her children eventually joined her and she remained there for over 35 years. She returned to Utah in 2024 to live out her days with her family.
Beckie was blessed with many talents and interests from an early age. She played the piano and organ well enough to accompany church congregations as a young teenager, and even sang sometimes. She kept the kitchen so occupied with her cooking and baking growing up that her younger sister didn’t have a chance to learn until she was out of the house. She baked hundreds of cakes over the years, including her childrens’ wedding cakes, and thousands of themed cookies. She thrived with creativity.
She was a lifelong reader and learner. She exemplified strength and taught her children to laugh in all circumstances, often with her wit and mischievous nature. She loved and befriended people of all ages and walks of life. She had an unabashed love of all things purple and bright. And she loved doing things her own way.
Beckie was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her children Katie Migliori of Franklin, Idaho, Devin Migliori (Angie) of Franklin, Idaho, Tyler Migliori (Lindsey) of Gainesville, Georgia; her father; seven siblings; and nine grandchildren.
