Ramona Doney

Ramona Keller Doney, 87, of St. George, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Father on Nov. 19, 2016 at the Bella Terra Care Center in St. George, Utah. Ramona was born to Janues and Vera Hawkes Keller on January 25, 1929 in Whitney, Idaho. She was the youngest of eight children. She graduated from Preston High School in 1946. She then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she worked in the catalog department of Montgomery Ward, and later as a bookkeeper for Commercial Credit Corporation. She was then privileged to serve in the Northern California Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1950-1952. After returning home, she met her husband of 64 years, Ronald Conrad Doney. They were married Oct. 17, 1952 in the Logan, Utah Temple. They lived in Logan, Utah, Cedar City, Utah, Ithaca, NY and Cortland, NY prior to moving to St. George, Utah.
    Ramona was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She especially enjoyed being a temple worker with her husband, in the Toronto, Canada and Palmyra, NY Temples.
    Ramona was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She especially loved her family and serving them. She was known for baking wonderful bread and pies. 
    She loved music and singing, and shared her talents with others throughout her life. Ramona started singing as a child, with her brother and sister, and performed in many choirs throughout her life. She spent many years singing with the Cortland College Community Choir in Cortland, NY, and sang in the choir for the dedication of the Washington, DC Temple.
    Ramona is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Doney, her children, Craig Doney (Donna) Lenexa, KS, Eileen Beebe (Terry) St. George, UT, Clark Doney (Beverly) Essex Junction, VT, Neal Doney, St. George, UT, Kenneth Doney (Emilee) East Hampton, CT, Vera Anne Buys (Scott) St. George, UT, Melanie Marriott (Eric) Poway, CA, 29 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her seven siblings.
    The family would like to thank all those who have been so kind to Ramona. We appreciate the care she received from all the nurses and aides at Bella Terra and Dixie Hospice.
    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho.  Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
