PRESTON, IDAHO RADINE HARRIS
PRESTON- Radine M. Fortie Harris, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on July 5, 2012. She was born in Heber City, Utah, on Dec. 31, 1934 to Dean Fortie and Adeline Davis Fortie, the third child and only girl in her family.
She lived in Preston, Idaho most of her life. She graduated from Preston High School in 1953. After high school, she worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator. She married Evan Harris on May 19, 1956, in Ogden, Utah. They made their home in Preston where they raised four children: Tammy (Van) Braegger of Preston; Janice (Sam) Gleason of Battle Mountain, Nevada; Kip (Karen) Harris of Elko, Nevada; and Zan Harris of Preston.
She worked at Del Monte, Presto Products and Pepperidge Farms. She learned to groom dogs because of her love of animals. This was the most rewarding to her and she was very talented at it. Radine was an avid bowler and she loved it. She was always the first one there and the last one to leave. She bowled in several leagues for many years with friends and family. She traveled to many tournaments all over the state of Idaho and national tournaments in Niagara Falls, New York and Reno, Nevada. She won several awards in bowling and was inducted into Preston's Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed her trips on the Senior Citizen bus to Wendover, Tuachan and Laughlin.
She is survived by her husband, Evan, of 56 years; her children; fourteen grandchildren , five great-grandchildren, by a brother, Dwain (RaVae) Fortie of Ogden, Utah and by a sister-in-law, LouAnne Fortie of N. Ogden, Utah. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents and by a brother. She had lots of friends an will be deeply missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Lago, Idaho Cemetery.
