Preston, Idaho - - - Peggy C. McKay
Preston - Peggy Earlene Coburn McKay, 86, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho. She was born on October 28, 1924 in Dayton, Idaho to Earl Alvero and Ila May Jensen Coburn, the only girl in a family of five boys. She married Dale F. McKay on March 11, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple and they had five children.
Peggy was a member of the LDS Church and she served in all organizations and auxiliaries. She and Dale also worked in the family history extraction program. She loved family trips, even day trips, and never left her children home. They have many fond memories of those trips the time spent together. Peggy and Dale wintered in Yuma, Arizona where they had many friends they looked forward to seeing each year. Peggy loved her children and grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them any time she could. She enjoyed summers and the time the family spent at "The Lot" in Cub River. The family always teased about her being the "last one standing" as she was the last of her siblings still surviving. We love you a lot and look forward to seeing you again.
She is survived by her children, Sondra (Leon) Edwards, of Preston, ID; Dan "C" (Janette) McKay, of Preston; Syndee (Scott) Christensen, of Preston; and Terrie (David) Jenkins, of Newton, UT; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale, and a son Van Dale McKay.
