Patricia Ann Pehrson, 83, of Logan, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024. Mother was born on December 30, 1940, in her home in Whitney, Idaho, to Julius Cabutti and Dollye Hayes. She spent her early years growing up in Whitney.
Mother’s lifelong love for music was evident from an early age. She attended Preston High School and earned a full-ride music scholarship to Utah State University, where she further developed her talent. Mother mastered several musical instruments, including the piano, organ, saxophone, string bass, French horn, snare drum, and clarinet. Music was a core part of her life and brought joy to everyone around her. One of her favorite college memories was when her father would travel to Logan and take her and her roommates to Fredrico’s for pizza. She also cherished the memories of summers spent in a Union Pacific boxcar with her mother and stepfather.
In 1965, Mother married the love of her life, Byron Ashcroft. Together, they were raising six children in a home filled with love when Byron’s life was tragically cut short in an accident. While raising six children on her own, Mother met a man brave enough to give her a second chance at love, and she married Ray Pehrson. Together, they ran Pehrson Floral, where she discovered a new passion for flower arranging, working alongside Ray to create beautiful floral designs.
Mother was also a gifted quilter, known for creating stunning, intricate quilts that she lovingly passed down to her children and grandchildren. Each quilt she made was a labor of love and will forever be treasured by her family as a symbol of her warmth and generosity.
In addition to her many talents, Mother was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP), where she built lasting friendships and honored her pioneer heritage.
Mother is survived by her six children: Bert, Juliann (Vaunda), Erik, Kim (Mandy), Michele (Rich), and Allison (Thomas); her grandchildren: Kestlee, Tanessa, Payton, Dyson, Easton, Mason, Leah, Alex, Paden, Maddy, and Mya. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Cabutti; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Mother was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her older sister, Dixie.
Her legacy of love, music, and creativity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
