Parmer Bennett Keller

Parmer Bennett Keller, 94, passed away on March 21, 2015 at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho.  He was born Jan. 19, 1921, in Mink Creek, Idaho the son of Emanuel Christopher and Mildred Bennett Keller. 

 

He married Dorothy Jean Tillotson on Aug. 14, 1942 in Driggs, Idaho.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.  He was inducted into the Army on Aug. 20, 1942 just days after he married his lovely bride Dorothy.  He was a staff sergeant and headed the Military Bomber Training Range at Davis-Monthan Field in Tucson, Arizona.  Parm was a decorated member of the military receiving the Medal of Good Conduct, American Theatre Ribbon and World War II Victory Medal.  His military career ended Nov. 24, 1945 when he then returned home to his family.

 

Parmer was a hard worker, he spent time in the AnaConda Mine in Soda Springs hauling ore and he worked many years as a crude oil broker and as a long haul truck driver for many years and for many different businesses.  He owned a Texaco gas station on 4 corners in Bountiful, Utah where his boys worked for him.  He had the cleanest station in town!  Parm was an avid hunter and loved to fly fish.  He and his boys took many trips hunting together.  He loved the outdoors- camping and fishing with his family.  He had many, many wonderful, loyal friends throughout the years.  His laughter, quick wit and outgoing personality will truly be missed by all. 

 

He is survived by five sons and one daughter, Charles Richard (Carol Ann) Keller of Ogden, Utah; Michael Ray (Pamela) Keller of Menifee, California; David Wells Keller of Franklin, Idaho; Steven (Rebecca Ann) Keller of Farmington, Utah; Laura Keller of Salt Lake City, Utah; Robert Dean (Diane) Keller of North Salt Lake City, Utah; by 26 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; by a daughter-in-law, Victoria Keller; by a sister, Aletha Parrish of North Salt Lake City, Utah; and by a brother, Vernon Keller of Mink Creek, Idaho.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; by a son, Ralph T. Keller; by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Keller; and by seven brothers and two sisters.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 12 Noon at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho.  Friends may call Saturday from 11-11:45 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home.  Military rites and interment will be in the Mink Creek, Idaho Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com  Love you Dad!
