Otho Christian Moosman, 84, passed away on May 11, 2014 at his home in Banida, Idaho. He was born Jan. 3, 1930 in Benson, Utah, the son of Welborn and Elsie M. Rogers Moosman.
He married Shirlene V. Wilde on Dec. 22, 1954, in the Logan Utah Temple.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as was a High Priest in the Winder Ward. He served as MIA Secretary and many other positions over the years. He was a Boy Scout Explorer leader. He served his mission to the Northern States Mission. He was a loving husband and father. He loved his grandchildren very much.
He enjoyed reading and writing and he authored three books in his later years. He also enjoyed wood carving and music. He played the violin and harmonica.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlene, of Banida; two sons and two daughters, Dennis (Mareen) Moosman of Preston, Idaho; Kathy (Kenneth) Turley of Maricopa, Arizona; Clint (Debbie) Moosman of Seneca Falls, New York; Tammy (Darrell) Drury of Cub River, Idaho; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, by six brothers and three sisters, Roger (Agnes) Moosman of Layton, Utah; Kay (Rosa) Moosman of Tremonton, Utah; Reed (Gail) Moosman of Preston, Idaho; Dale (Emma Jean) Moosman of Preston, Idaho; Theron Moosman of Spanish Fork, Utah; Mark (Cheryl) Moosman of Burley, Idaho; DeVonna Hansen of Orem, Utah; Verley Moosman of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Joy (O'dell) Gittins of Burley, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Moosman; by a sister, Arthella Bessinger; and by three grandsons, Cody Moosman, Ret Moosman and Steven Moosman.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Winder Ward Chapel. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery.
