Oneta Hall Hyde

Preston, Idaho Oneta H. HydePreston - Our loving mother, Oneta Hall Hyde, 98 passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Franklin County Medical Center. She was born on January 29, 1910 to Thomas John and Harriet Bodily Hall. She was the 2nd of 10 children born to this family. She attended school in Fairview, Idaho and graduated from Preston High School. She married Wesley "Pete" Hyde on December 3, 1930 in the Logan Temple. They resided in Fairview all of their lives except for the past little while that she has resided at the Heritage Home in Preston. She has always been active in the Fairview Ward of her church and served faithfully in many callings. She worked in the extraction for over 10 years. Crocheting, knitting, quilting, and gardening are just a few of her many interests and talents. All of her children, "grands" and "great grands" have received some of her artistic creations that have taken her countless hours to do. She was an avid sports fan. She especially followed Preston High, USU Aggies, and the Utah Jazz sporting events. She was a charter member of the Sara Mar Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and served in many calling in it, and assisted in the writing of the history of Fairview, Idaho. She looked forward to their yearly summer vacations with our family and her sister Mardene. She often accompanied Dad to the rivers and lakes while he fished where she would crochet or read.She is survived by four children, Jolene (Norm) Corbridge, of Provo, UT; Jon (Linda) Hyde, Preston, ID; Sid (LaNae) Hyde of Smithfield, UT; Brian (Kathy) Hyde, Preston, ID; 11 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, sisters Verna Knudsen, Mardene Hall, brothers Herm Hall and Grant Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 8, 1972, as well as by her sister Dorothy Gilbert, brothers Byron, Hershel, "Joe", Dallas, and Dennis Hall, and her first grandson Alan Lee Corbridge. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 12:00 noon in the Fairview 1st Ward with Bishop Howard D. Nelson conducting. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida in Preston, and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
