Norda Carmen Hadley Westover (98) joined her loved ones in heaven on Wednesday, May 31, 2023in Preston, Idaho. She is now able to walk, run, ride horses, and enjoy hot cocoa. But more importantly, she will continue to learn and grow in Heavenly Father’s plan.
Carmen was born April 14, 1925 in Swan Lake, Idaho to James Andrew Hadley and Ida Ione McNeil. She was the youngest of 11 children. She graduated from Downey High School as Valedictorian. After graduation she joined the Cadet Nurses Corp program and became a Registered Nurse. She truly was a nurse to everyone.
She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was sealed to Nord K Westover on July 7, 1947 in the Logan Utah Temple. Shortly thereafter they served a mission in California. They were blessed with 4 sons and 1 daughter.
Carmen loved to read and study the Book of Mormon every day. She had a strong testimony of that book and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She had a quick wit and sense of humor. She had a love for good books, writing poetry, and making mint wafer cookies and always had fuel (candy) for her grandchildren. She was known by all as Granny.
Carmen is survived by her children, Jim (Kristi) Westover, Kim (Suzanne) Westover, Ann (Doug) Hulce, Dean Westover, and Rick (Sally) Westover, 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and all of her siblings.
