TUCSON, ARIZONA Nelda Archibald Page
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away Feb 12, 2012 after suffering through the final stages of Alzheimer's. She was born April 22, 1927 in Preston, Idaho to LeRoy and Susan Alder Archibald. Nelda was preceded in death by both her parents, her brother Leroy Archibald, an infant sister Janeen, her sister Yvonne Pendleton, husband and eternal companion Leo D. Page and infant children Fawn, Todd and Bradley.
She worked in war-time factories in Los Angeles after graduating from high school in Dayton, ID. Nelda and Leo were married and sealed for time and eternity in the Logan, Utah temple July 22, 1947, while students at what was then Utah State Agriculture College. They both graduated from Utah State in the same graduating class along with Nelda's father, brother and sister. Nelda majored in art with an emphasis on clothing design and minored in English. Nelda and Leo moved from Utah to New Mexico and lived in Texas and Idaho before they purchased a dairy, in partnership with two of Leo's brothers, and moved their family to Tucson, Arizona in 1965. She served faithfully in her church in many capacities including Ward and Stake Relief Society President in Tucson.
She is survived by one sister, LuDean (Vance) Campbell, 7 children, Kent (Beverly) Page, Gregg (Barbara) Page, Ivan (Dixie) Page, Janeen (Carl) Dewey, Jackie Mims, Teresa (Patrick) Grabinger, Traci (Vincente) Diaz, 32 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. She was loved and admired by all her children and grandchildren as demonstrated by this statement made by her granddaughter Stephanie: "she knew how to be a grandma and I only hope I can be as good a one someday."
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Farmington Second Ward LDS Church, 695 South 200 East, Farmington Utah. Friends may call Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Graveside dedication servies will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Dayton, Idaho Cemetery.
