PRESTON, IDAHO NELDA FRANCIS
PRESTON- Nelda Bradley Francis, 87, passed away May 10, 2011, in Preston, Idaho. She was born March 10, 1924, in Preston, Idaho to Orthello Carlyle and Maggie Bell Bradley. Nelda married William Joseph (Tony) Francis on March 31, 1944, in Ely, Nevada. The marriage was then solemnized April 5, 1944, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was the mother of eight children, thirty-two grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She said many times, "My husband and my family are the joy of my life." Nelda and Tony worked in five temples and served a mission to the Mexico City Temple.
Nelda loved to garden, can from her garden, and sew for her family. She was a wonderful cook. Her life was a life of service. Her favorite of the many callings she had in her church was teaching little children. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Nelda is survived by her four sons, William J. Francis (Pauline) of Richmond, UT, Peter Francis (Diane) of Glendale, AZ., Richard (Vickie) of Clearfield, UT, James (Kathleen) of Pleasant Grove, UT; three daughters, Priscilla (Vernon) of Pingree, ID, JoAnn (Marvin) Sparrow of Weston, ID, and Ina (Byron) Johnson of Layton, UT. Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, her son, Paul, and two granddaughters, Jami Elizabeth Francis and Rikki Francis.
Nelda's family wish to express their love and appreciation to the staff of the Franklin County Care Center who gave their mother tireless hours of compassionate care.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in the Preston 10th Ward Building, 155 N. 200 W. with Bishop Lynn Eskelson conducting. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10:30-11:30 at the church. Interment will be in the Dayton Cemetery . Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
