Preston, Idaho Nancy S. WalkerPreston - Nancy Rae Stone Walker, 66, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Franklin County Medical Center in Preston, Idaho. She was born on May 23, 1941, in Van Nuys, California, a stunningly beautiful child who was noticed by talent scouts and promptly put into movies. Nancy left the world of films when she was 12 so she could pursue other interests - she excelled in school and music, and was thereafter known for her incredible intellect and top-notch musicianship. She married and had four children.A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she always held tightly to her faith, using it to steady her when life presented difficulties. She also found joy in her music - performing as well as teaching, which she did for close to 40 years. She was a professional flutist, playing in venues across the country, and was also an accomplished pianist, sharing her talents through the years as an accompanist, ward organist, and teacher. She is highly regarded by her former students, as well as the friends and neighbors she met throughout many moves. Nancy was rarely presented with an easy path in life - oftentimes her trials seemed insurmountable, but to the end she had a smile and appreciation for those who were kind to her. We are happy for Mom that she has been set free and can now revisit what she loved in life - genealogy and music. She will be a powerful force in this next chapter of her life, now that she has passed peacefully on December 16, 2007. Unfettered by the world's travails her spirit will soar. She is survived by her four children, Cathy (Lynn) Mason, Donna (Daris) Howard, Tricia (Steve) Speakman, and a son Kyle, and 17 grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from 2-3 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, Preston, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
