Nada Fackrell Williams, kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on August 19, 2024 surrounded by her loving family; three months prior to her 90th birthday. She was born in Preston, Idaho on November 5, 1934. She was the youngest of nine children born to Forrest Alford and Wealthy Ann (Sutton) Fackrell.
She spent her growing up years in Preston and graduated from Preston High School. She married Eugene H. Hall in 1954. They were married 20 years and were blessed with five children. In June 1991 she married Kenneth Gene Williams and they were happily married for 24 years. They shared a love that has rarely been matched. Ken passed away in September 2015 leaving Mom to learn to live alone. She did so with dignity, giving service, helping family and friends, and remembering others by always sending cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays.
Nada loved music and enjoyed performing in musicals throughout her school years and in community theatre as an adult. She also loved singing in choirs and directing music. She had the privilege of singing in the choir for the dedication of the Washington DC Temple and directing the choir for the dedication of the Chicago Illinois Temple. She also sang at the dedication of the ‘Monument to Women’ in Nauvoo. She directed the Naperville Stake Choir and Orchestra in ‘Handel’s Messiah’ for 13 years. She treasured the opportunity she was given to develop the talents the Lord had given her. Many of which she did not know she had.
She worked at several jobs throughout her life. From babysitting the neighborhood children as a youth to several secretarial positions. Nada loved working for LDS Social Services, helping place children for adoption and working in the Chicago Illinois Temple as secretary to the Temple Presidency when it opened in 1985. Nada retired in December 1996. She and Ken returned to the temple and served as temple workers for another 11 years. This was a highlight of her life. Mom, however, always considered her most important job to be that of being a mother.
Nada was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as Relief Society President, Stake Music Chairman, in Young Women’s Presidencies, as Primary Pianist, and in other callings and assignments.
She is survived by her children Debra Hawkins (Mark), Pamela Balden (Richard), Susan Caprio (Andrew), Kenneth Eugene Hall (Trinke), Kristine Booker, and Ken’s children Holly Butlett and Peter Williams, 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and her beloved nieces and nephews. Mom was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, her siblings and their spouses, a stepson, and a grandson.
Mom left her family a legacy of faith and a spirit of endurance that will be remembered well beyond her years upon this earth. Everyone who knew her was blessed by her love, kindness, humor, and wit.
Our hearts are full of gratitude for the many acts of kindness extended to our family at this time. Your prayers and expressions of love and sympathy are greatly appreciated. May God’s blessings of peace and love be with you. We also express special thanks to Nicole and Erin of Compass Home Care and Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Nada over the last week of her life.
