PRESTON, IDAHO Myron Francis Preece Myron Francis Preece, 90, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008 at home in Preston, Idaho. He was born June 5, 1918 in Cove, Utah to Myron Peck and Neta Kingsford Preece. Myron has two daughters, Rosalee (Ron) Martel of Canyon Lake, CA and Linda (Rich) Mitchell of Riverton, WY. He also has 4 granddaughters. Myron's father died at the age of 29, so at the age of 9, Myron became the bread winner for his 4 younger siblings: George, who was killed in WWII, Orlando (Dick), Teresa Jackson and Barbara Rodriguez, who passed away earlier this year. He milked cows, tromped hay and did any odd job he could find. At age 18, Myron joined the CCC Camp and then joined the Army in 1941. After serving in WWII, Myron married Ellen Carlson of Preston, Idaho Jan 9, 1948 and was employed at Cache Valley Dairy in Amalga where he worked as the Chief Engineer until his retirement in 1980. Myron was a master craftsman and considered the top welder in Cache Valley.Ellen passed away in 1996 and is buried in Preston Cemetery. He has since been married to Vella Thompson Sparks for the last 12 years. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston 3rd/7th/10th Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, with Bishop Jason Travis of the Preston 6th Ward conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the church. Military rites and interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
