Murray Kay Sears

CLIFTON, ID " Murray Kay Sears, age 53, a faithful husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Sept. 17, 2012, as he was completing a hard day of work on the family farm. He was born to Paul and Raelene Winward Sears on Jan. 12, 1959, the 3rd of 11 children. He graduated from West Side High School where he enjoyed and excelled at sports. He respected people, which caused others to respect him. He served for two years in the Nashville, Tennessee LDS Mission where he deepened a testimony that would bless his family for generations.
With appropriate nudging he began his eternal family by joining Lisa Ann Mumford in eternal sealing promises to which he was faithful in the Logan Temple, December 29, 1982.
For 17 years he was the dedicated, dependable steward over the family farm " keeping promises, at peace with all neighbors, and with Lisa, raising their family of four beautiful daughters and one son. All learned the value of hard work and relying on each other as they lived, loved and laughed together. When the family called the Mission President of their son, Clancey Sears who is serving in the Everett Washington LDS Mission, President Wilson spoke of Elder Sears in the exact words that a neighbor had just used to describe his father " "steady and dependable".
Murray served his Savior and his friends as a counselor in the Bishopric, High Priest Group Leader, Young Men's leader, in the Sunday School presidency and in his treasured Primary Worker duties. He was a faithful home teacher. He had a keen memory with a gift for sharing an experience or telling a story. If opportunity had permitted, he could have been every child's favorite papa " spending hours with them in things they liked to do " shaping play-dough on his lap, watching their favorite cartoon or horse, dog movie; ever-encouraging, ever-giving, ever-showing-interest, ever-loving.
We think that everyone's last memory of Murray will be a pleasant one. "Him" was a good man. There will be so many nephews, nieces, and cousins, who will dearly miss their Uncle Mur.
Those who greeted him in the Spirit World include: His parents Paul and Raelene Sears, brother Reed, baby sister, sister-in-law Margo Sears, Grandparents Les and Mary Murray Sears, Bertie and Elizabeth Winward. Parents-in-law Gideon and Betty Jo Mumford, brother-in-law Jeffrey Mumford, sister-in-law Sherida Lee.
Those who remain are: Loving wife Lisa Ann Mumford Sears, daughters Melanie Ann and Skyler Petterborg, Megan Raelene, Marli Jo, Mckell Louise, son Clancey Kay, serving in the Washington Everett mission. Grandchildren Saxon Dee and Kyriae Skye, all of Clifton. Siblings Karene and Bill Collins, Jeff and Dyan Sears, Gordon and Myra Sears, Louise and Vince Miller, Steve and Hailey Sears, Pauline Montes, Mary Elizabeth and Deon Fincher, Brian and Merrilee Sears.
