Mindy Lundgreen

On November 2, 2024, Mindy slipped quietly into the loving arms of her dear grand-parents, where she was welcomed with exclamations of joy by those anxiously awaiting her return home. After a long five-year journey through ovarian cancer, she has completed her mortal experience and is now beginning an eternity of service to those awaiting her love and support. She has been a dedicated wife, loving mother and grand-mother raising her two children along with three adored step-children while managing a challenging career. Her 30+ years of dedicated service as a well-recognized and acclaimed clinical therapist will now be employed in assisting those who so much need her help in the eternal worlds.

Mindy grew up in Kaysville, Utah, and attended Davis High School. She served a full-time LDS mission in Hong Kong (1988- 1990 Cantonese speaking). Following her mission, she graduated from Weber State University in Psychology, completing a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Utah (and subsequent LCSW). She was a case worker for Utah Foster Care Foundation and a Clinical therapist with LDS Family Services; later founding her own private practice primarily serving women. Her work as a therapist was life changing and lifesaving. Her connection, love and compassion for her clients was beyond measure. Her bright, cheerful and enthusiastic outlook brought joy to everyone. She was truly “the life of the party”. Her quick wit, smile and positive approach to any challenge (even in the face of a terminal diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer) uplifted all. She loved spending time in nature, hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and floating the Bear River.

Mindy was married to Kim W. Lundgreen in the Bountiful, Utah LDS Temple in 2001 and has been currently residing in Logan, Utah. Her former residences were in El Centro and Escondido, California, Kaysville and South Weber, Utah. Her greatest joy in life was found in her family. She is survived by her parents R. William and Marjorie R. Harris, spouse Kim W. Lundgreen, Darren J. Fortie (former spouse, 1990-1998, father of Madi & Alex). Children: Alexander J. Fortie, (Callie), Madison F. Carlson (Max), Levi K. Lundgreen (Alexa), Trevor R. Lundgreen (Danielle), Wyatt J. Lundgreen (Whitley), Mike Koch (Kassidy). She also has twelve very special grand-children who appreciate her unending kindnesses, unconditional love, and all know they are “her favorite.” Surviving siblings: Rebecca H. Naylor (David), Robert D. Harris (Ginger), Lydia H. Knowlton (Joshua), Noelle H. Gray (Darren). Too numerous to mention are many extended family, friends, professional associates, and clients who have been impacted by her life of love and service.

The family expresses genuine gratitude and appreciation to the medical team at Huntsman Cancer Institute & Hospital for their tireless efforts and support over the last years in working to extend Mindy’s life. Among those deserving special recognition are Drs. Werner, Maurer, and Ditty Bannon, PA, and the entire Huntsman team. Special thanks to Huntsman nurses BJ, Jan, and Tami. Countless other nurses and providers too numerous to mention. Mindy has requested that In lieu of flowers, donations to the UTAH FOSTER CARE FOUNDATION would be appreciated.
