WHITNEY, IDAHO MILDRED P. COLEMildred Poole Cole, 88, left her loving family to return with honor to her heavenly family on November 19, 2007.She was born April 15, 1919, in Preston, Idaho, to Thomas Alexander and Mary Elizabeth Poole. After graduating from Preston High School, she attended additional schooling in Weiser, Idaho, an all girls finishing school. Afterward, Mildred returned to Preston where she worked at the Preston Carnegie Library. She married Ottis LaVerle Cole on December 19, 1941. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on March 5, 1955.Mildred was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Primary and Young Women's President, Relief Society secretary, Special Interests group leader, and officiated for many years in the Logan Temple. She was very loyal to the gospel and serving our Heavenly Father faithfully in any and all callings she was asked to do. She was a devoted wife and mother. She worked side by side with her husband on the family farm and supported her children in their quest to succeed. Mother was the ultimate example of courage, perseverance, and service to others. Her family always came first! She loved her family with all her heart, might, mind, and strength. Following the death of her husband, Ottis, she was left with farms and 5 children at home to raise. She pressed forward with the help of our Heavenly Father and succeeded far beyond her own expectations. She has left a legacy of 31 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She will be dearly missed.She is survived by her children M. Lynn (LuAnn) Cole, Karen (LaVor) Smith, Lee O. (Carey) Cole, Shannon C. (Alan D.) Housley, Evelyn (Steven Barth) Cole, Keith C. (Shonna) Cole, and Clair D. Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband Ottis and two sons, Dennis E. and Rodney O. Cole. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitney 2nd Ward Chapel with Brother Darren Cole Conducting. Friends and family may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Saturday from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery.
