Michael Keith Wright, age 51, passed away unexpectedly in Modesto California on November 24th 2018, while visiting his mother for Thanksgiving, like he had done for many years. He was born on December 23rd 1966 at Logan Hospital to Keith Ariel and Sally Boman Wright. He grew up in Richmond Utah and it was there he became an Eagle Scout and discovered his love of the outdoors. It was also where he met and married Lisa Larsen. They were married on December 2nd 1988 and had two beautiful children, Scott and Shailyn Wright. 23 years later, they parted ways, but always remained united in their children’s lives.
When he was younger, if he wasn’t moving sprinklers or working at the cheese plant, in his free time you could find him cow surfing on grandpas farm, shooting hoops, playing soccer, building snow forts or enjoying other scout activities. He enjoyed working on cars and rebuilt the engine of a 57 Chevy with his dad, Keith. As he got older his love of the outdoors expanded with his 4 wheel drives, and he spent all of his free moments camping, fishing, hunting, and relaxing by the fire or lakeside with a Coors Lite. After his hip surgery, he traded in his tent for a trailer and enjoyed a few more modern conveniences while still enjoying the outdoors. He loved old classic cars, and would go to a car show any chance he got Whenever family was in town, they would always gather at his house to enjoy his famous Dutch oven potatoes. He also enjoyed shooting pool, golfing and skydiving with his brothers and doing anything that included spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.
He spent most of his life working in the construction field. He started very early framing churches in multiple states, briefly worked in concrete and even tried his hand at being a pool man. But his one true love in construction was framing houses. He spent many years doing this and always said, “If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.”
He was preceded in death by his father Keith Ariel Wright, his grandparents Lewis and Vaudice Boman, and Ila and Orson Wright, and a nephew Brandon Mills.
He is survived by his children Scott M. Wright (Demerae) and Shailyn Wright (Tyler), his mother Sally Wright Burch and step father Gary Burch, his brothers Alan Wright (Nicole), Kevin Wright (Amber), Brian Wright (Luis), his step sisters Denise Lowery (Terrell) and LaShaun Acquaye, his grandchildren Arissa, Jacqulynn, Kamri, Jasmyne, and Micheal. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Mike was always there when you called him and always willing to help. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a great man and will be truly missed.
