On Friday, March 13th, 2015, Michael Barrett Steadman was returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father. He was met there by his father, Barrett, and his mother, Iyla Jean, whom we can safely assume proceeded to make him as comfortable as possible and fix him something to eat.
He was born June 6, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Preston, Idaho where many still call him by the unfortunate nickname “Freck”. He later attended Utah State University where he met his lifelong sweetheart, Diane Reynolds. They were married Sept. 20, 1986 and had two flawless daughters. He took on the family trade in cattle with his father and continued in it for life. Mike will always be remembered for his tender heart, his propensity for B.S., his body-shaking laugh and giving more of himself than was asked.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; his sisters, Tomie (Craig) Brown; Janene (Brad) Curtis and Kathy Steadman; his beloved cousin, Lynette (Lynn) Parker and family and by his daughters, Loo Jean Steadman and Megan (Reid) Wilkinson, with his first grandchild on the way. We all look forward to another bear hug from him when we meet again.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 12 Noon in the Cove LDS Church with Bishop Todd Hougaard conducting. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Idaho and Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Idaho Cemetery.
